Because of the energetic and athletic nature of dancing, making sure that dance shoes fit correctly, and are providing the correct support, is incredibly important.
With so many variations in designs, sizes, fittings and heels etc. it can be difficult to select the most suitable shoes, especially when ordering online without being able to try them on first.
With that in mind, we have created this section to provide extensive guidance on our products, and to help you decide which shoes will be best for you.
Below you will find size charts offering some basic guidance for choosing your size, as well as links to in depth guides on the different categories of shoes we offer. Within the sections for each category, you will find guides for the various fittings and heels we offer, as well as information on some of the features and benefits of our shoes.
International Size Charts
Unfortunately there are no strict measurements or specifications for UK, or many other international shoe sizing systems, which means that there is no strict conversion between UK sizes and International size.
This also means that sizes can vary between manufacturers. So, for example, a size 7 shoe from one brand may fit differently to a size 7 from a different brand.
It is therefore difficult for us to offer sizing advice remotely, however below you will find charts providing approximate conversions between UK sizes and various international sizes, as well as the approximate corresponding foot length.
These size charts are designed to offer basic guidance, and are not guaranteed to be correct for everyone. However, our sizes are based on a traditional English size grading that we have used for many years and, from our experience, we have found the charts to be accurate in most cases.
Adult Size Chart
Generally, we manufacture our Ladies' shoes up to UK size 8, and our Men's shoes up to UK size 12 (with half sizes available). There are, however, some exceptions where specific models are available in larger sizes.
Almost all of our shoes are offered in UK sizes, however there are a couple of exceptions to this. Shoes offered in a different sizing system will have the sizing system clearly noted on the product page.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Whilst we find the above conversions to be accurate in most cases, we do often find that dancers take a half size smaller in Latin shoes than street shoes, as they are usually worn tighter so that they feel secure on the foot while dancing. If converting from your street shoe size, you may therefore wish to select a half size lower when ordering Latin models.
Children's Size Chart
Our Children's size chart starts at a UK children's size 10, as we offer our Girls' Latin shoes from a UK children's size 10 to 13, and then from adults' UK size 1 to size 5. Please note that we do not produce half sizes for shoes between UK size 10 and size 1.
Our Girls' Ballroom models, and our Boy's shoes for both Latin and Ballroom, are available from Adults' size 1 to 5 (with half sizes available).
